Hand Program Service Scope Specialized assessment and treatment of injuries affecting hand function. These include dominance retraining, assessments of ability to carry out daily activities, aesthetic prosthesis screens, psychological assessments, and functional abilities evaluations. Referral Criteria General Referral Criteria While each specialty program has specific referral criteria, they all share some general criteria for referral. Refer when: There is a need to clarify a diagnosis; Prognosis, level of impairment, or appropriate treatment is unclear; The injured worker has not returned to work after normal healing times; Divergent medical opinions exist.
