Hand & Upper Extremity Specialty Programs Services Available: The programs offer assessment for a wide range of work related upper extremity injuries by a therapist and a specialist with special expertise in the upper extremity. If additional diagnostic studies and/or consultation by another specialist(s) such as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychology are required, these can be arranged. Depending on the nature of the problem, treatment and/or treatment recommendations can be made and provided to treating health care professional(s). Referral Criteria: An injured worker can be considered for referral to these programs if: A work related upper extremity injury has been recognized A timely and satisfactory recovery from an injury to the upper extremity has not occurred An expert opinion is required on diagnoses such as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) & Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS).
