    Shoulder & Elbow Program


    Service Available:
    The clinic provides multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for work-related shoulder and elbow injuries. Specialized Functional Ability Evaluations (FAEs), psychological assessments and diagnostic assessments are readily available.

    Treatment is provided on site and can include:
    • physiotherapy
    • occupational therapy
    • work hardening/conditioning
    • return to work consultation, and
    • custom and pre-fabricated splints and braces.
    Referral Criteria:
    Injured workers can be considered for referral to this clinic for the following:
    • Clarification of diagnosis of shoulder and/or elbow injuries
    • To Obtain an Expert Opinion on treatment options, for example in the setting of:
      • Fracture or dislocation of shoulder or elbow when recovery has been poor and 6 months have elapsed following the injury.

      • Following a course of non-surgical treatment when recovery has been incomplete and the shoulder and/or elbow injury continues to limit function.

      • Following shoulder or elbow surgery when the post-operative recovery has been poor and 6 months since surgery.

    • To Obtain an Expert Opinion on such diagnoses as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD)/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and Thoractic Outlet Syndrome (TOS)

    • To Obtain an Expert Opinion on level of impairment and prognosis
