NEER Claim Cost Calculator
Purpose
The WSIB has developed a basic spreadsheet to enable you to estimate the total costs of an injury or illness within your organization and help better plan and deliver your health and safety programs. It will help your organization to better understand the financial impact of injuries and illnesses on its operations. You can calculate the NEER experience rating financial impact and, optionally, the associated indirect costs.
Accuracy
This calculator will compute within reasonable accuracy the costs of an injury to an organization. It does not discount benefits paid to an injured worker in years beyond the injury year. Therefore, the results for a specific claim may not necessarily match what you see on your NEER statement.
Confidentiality
The NEER Claim Cost Calculator (718k, Excel) is a standalone spreadsheet, not linked in any way to confidential data on WSIB computers. The enterable fields are populated by the user and the results are for illustrative purposes only.
Version/Updates
As the calculator draws information from various factors and tables, which will change from year to year, updates will occasionally be required. This also applies to layout changes and enhancements. Be sure to always use the latest version on our website.
