Ensuring healthy and safe workplaces for all Ontarians is a key priority for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. We look forward to your ongoing support and input as we move forward with our health and safety system partners, employers and workers across this province on the Road to Zero – the elimination of all workplace injuries and illnesses.
Background Information
To assist and encourage employers to create a positive health and safety culture and safety habits, the WSIB is working together with stakeholder groups to develop an Accreditation Program for Ontario Workplaces.
Accreditation will recognize employers who are motivated to achieve high standards for health and safety practice and align with the WSIB’s vision to eliminate all workplace injuries.
The first stage in this process was to hold information sessions for employer and worker stakeholders and obtain feedback on a consultation paper on accreditation for Ontario workplaces.
Summary of feedback received:
Stakeholder feedback has been incorporated into a draft Pilot Program Standard. For your information this is the draft Accreditation for Ontario Workplaces Pilot Standard (1.5m, pdf).
