Research Advisory Council Request for Research Proposals

The WSIB Research Advisory Council (RAC) has issued a call for research proposals for its 2009 Solutions for Workplace Change open grants competition.

All proposals must be received by the WSIB Research Secretariat by 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) describes the WSIB’s research program, its research priorities, and how to apply. All applicants must use the 2009 Research Grant Application form. The form and the RFP are available for download below.

Grants are a maximum of $150,000 per year, and the maximum grant duration is three years. Researchers may also apply for 12-month Development Grants, with a maximum budget of $30,000. See the RFP for details on both types of grants.

This is the RAC’s eleventh annual call for proposals since the program’s first competition in 1999. In this time, the program has awarded 177 grants and over $25.1 million in funding.

The WSIB Research Advisory Council is an independent multi-stakeholder body composed of representatives of researchers, workers, employers, health and safety associations, the Institute for Work & Health, the Ministry of Labour, and the WSIB. The Council reviews all grant applications and makes funding recommendations to the WSIB Board of Directors.
