ServiceOntario - WSIB partnership in COBI
ServiceOntario is a division of the Ministry of Government Services (MGS) committed to providing the public with fast, friendly, convenient access to Government services. COBI is one of these services, and stands for Change Of Business Information. It is an online application, accessible to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing users to submit changes to existing information to both federal and provincial government programs - now including the WSIB.

Schedule 1 employers can now submit changes to the WSIB for:

    • Three types of Business Addresses (Account General Mailing, Payroll Records and Organization)
    • Two types of business names (Legal and Trade)
    • Contact Information (Business telephone and/or fax numbers)

The WSIB and ServiceOntario have taken every step to ensure that any online business transaction is safe, secure, and upholds your right to privacy. Learn more and access
    ServiceOntario.

Here are some Q&As that you may find useful:

What other Ministries and/or Agencies currently make use of COBI?

Currently, the Ministry of Government Services (MGS), the Ontario Ministry of Revenue (MOR), and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) offer employers the opportunity to update/change their business information or advise that they are closing their account via COBI.

How will WSIB customers know that their online submission was successfully recorded?

Customers will get a Business Information Summary Page that prompts them to review for accuracy prior to final submission. At this point, they are able to go back and make any necessary corrections or changes. Once the customer information is submitted successfully, they will get a confirmation number for reference if they follow up with the WSIB on their transaction information.

Learn more about the COBI application.
