    WSIB learning programs and resources support our commitment to the prevention of illness and injury in the workplace.

    Education Programs

    Online Education CourseHealth & Safety 101 – no login required
    This online course provides workers, 24 years of age and younger, with important health and safety information. The course also prepares young workers for the Passport to Safety program.

    In-class education courseSafe Communities Incentive Program (SCIP)
    SCIP promotes safety in the workplace and can help small businesses reduce their WSIB insurance premiums. Participating firms gain access to health and safety training programs, resources, and health and safety experts to help them create better, safer workplaces.     In-class education courseMusculoskeletal Injuries Prevention Program (MIPP)
    In this 6-hour training program you'll learn about the causes and prevention of common musculoskeletal injuries, including repetitive strain injuries. For more information, call 1-800-663-6639 or 416-344-1016, or e-mail prevention@wsib.on.ca.

    In-class education courseCertification Training Programs
    The Occupational Health and Safety Act requires that most workplaces with 20 or more workers have at least one worker and one management person to serve as certified members of a workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). This certification involves training in health and safety law, and the identification, assessment and control of hazards.

    Designated members acquire Basic training either through providers and programs approved by the WSIB, or passing competency testing. To be eligible for competency testing a candidate must be selected as the designated person for certification.

    In-class education courseFirst Aid Program
    Regulation 1101 (210k, pdf) requires all employers to ensure that first aid boxes and stations are in the charge of workers who hold valid first aid certificates issued by a training agency recognized by the WSIB.     Ontario Health and Safety Associations are funded by the WSIB, Ontario health and safety associations, provide training programs, products and services to the province's employers and workers.

    youngworker.ca gives students the information they need to protect their health and safety on the job.

    Passport to Safety is an innovative national young worker health and safety awareness program offering youth age 24 and under the opportunity to test their health and safety knowledge

    Safety Groups Program provides you with a network of firms who share the common goal of reducing injuries and illnesses.
