    Impact of Bill 179 Legislative Amendment

    The final review provisions relating to Future Economic Loss (FEL) and Loss of Earnings (LOE) benefits under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act were amended effective November 26, 2002 by the Government Efficiency Act, 2002.

    The Clarification Document (129k, pdf) addresses some of the operational issues arising from the amendment, including:
    • Final review of LOE/FEL benefits;
    • FEL and significant deteriorations after the 60th month review;
    • LOE and significant deteriorations after the 72 month review; and
    • LOE and older workers.
